Magic Photo Editor is a free to try software application that claims to offer an optimized tool for creating portraits, frames, and collages by using your digital photos or images. You can avail the trial version for a limited usage of 30 trials. Designed and developed by DreamLight, this tool claims to offer one of the simplest and most basic mechanisms for editing your photos. The interface is quite basic, making it easy to use for new-comers and beginners. It also comes with a colorful interface that has a side panel where all the functionalities are listed. With this utility, you will be able to integrate your photos into other pictures to create landscape effects. It also offers options to add frames, or other elements such as cartoons, flowers, or even comments to your photos.
The utility offers various pre-defined images and cartoons that you can add to enhance your picture’s attractiveness. These include around 100 clipart images, 180 masks, 180 cartoon images, 100 frames, and about 60 attractive outlines. Supported in Windows 98, 2000, 2003, 2008, 7, NT, Me, XP, Vista, and Server versions; the tool comes integrated with a Help feature to guide you through the photo editing process. The tool is intended for basic photo editing for users who are unfamiliar with the process. Therefore, it offers several pre-defined options that you can use to enhance your digital images. However, the simplicity of the tool also leads to restrictions when it comes to creating advanced effects in your photos. The tool is not intended to support higher level of photo editing.
There are some functionality-related limitations in this tool. It does not allow you to resize your application window. There are only “minimize” and “close” buttons. Therefore, you cannot manipulate the window size like you do in other windows-based applications. It does not allow you to increase or decrease the window size even by using click and drag. The title bar is absent and replaced with some decorative controls, which do not open any menu or controls. These are considered as some of the usability or navigational limitations in this tool.
